About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Design and Technology to join our secondary school in Leeds. This full-time role covers all areas of Design and Technology at Key Stage 3. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and interactive lessons, ensuring students develop practical skills, creativity, and an understanding of materials, tools, and processes.

Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- A strong understanding of current Design and Technology curricula and best practices.

- Excellent subject knowledge across all areas of Design and Technology.
- Strong practical skills with a variety of materials and equipment.
- Ability to inspire and engage students in hands-on learning.
- Effective communication and teamwork within the department.
- Adaptability to teach students with different learning needs.
- Organisational skills to manage resources, materials, and projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and practical lessons across all areas of D&T at KS3.
- Teach a variety of D&T disciplines, including Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, Food, and Electronics.
- Encourage students to develop problem-solving, creative thinking, and technical skills.
- Demonstrate the safe and appropriate use of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Maintain a well-organised and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Develop engaging, real-world projects that inspire students to think critically and innovatively.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to support learning and progress.
- Stay up to date with advancements in design, technology, and teaching methodologies.
- Attend departmental meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
