Position Details
- Location: Leeds
- Contract: Permanent, full-time (Start: September 2025)
- Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Essential Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Right to work in the UK
- Sound knowledge of the DT National Curriculum (particularly in Resistant Materials)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Desirable Skills & Attributes
- Experience with CAD/CAM and workshop tools
- Interest in leading extracurricular clubs or projects
- A growth mindset and reflective approach to teaching
- Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
- Confidence with creative lesson planning and curriculum development
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging and well-structured DT lessons (Resistant Materials focus) to KS3 and KS4
- Use practical and theoretical approaches to bring learning to life
- Support students in developing skills in design, engineering, and problem-solving
- Prepare students for qualifications such as GCSE DT
- Monitor and assess progress, providing high-quality feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and resource development
- Contribute to extracurricular and enrichment opportunities within the department
- Maintain a safe and inspiring learning environment in the workshop and classroom
