About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Design and Technology to join a well-established secondary school in Leeds from Easter 2025. This is a full-time role, where you will play a key part in delivering an engaging and practical curriculum, fostering creativity, and equipping students with essential technical and problem-solving skills. You will be working with students across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach KS5 for the right candidate.

Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements
... - QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more DT specialisms
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Skills
- Proficiency in using CAD software, laser cutters, and 3D printers.
- Commitment to promoting creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.Familiarity with exam board specifications for DT qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons across DT disciplines
- Develop engaging and practical learning experiences that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
- Teach students how to use a range of tools, machinery, and CAD software safely and effectively.
- Provide differentiated instruction to support students of all abilities, including SEND and EAL learners.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations, supporting coursework and practical assessments.
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop, ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.
- Engage with industry professionals and employers to enhance student career awareness.
- Support the school's ethos, vision, and commitment to excellence in education.
- Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in events, open evenings, and parent workshops.
