About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Teacher of Design and Technology to join our secondary school in Wakefield. This part-time position is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students across KS3 and KS4, delivering lessons in DT, Construction, and potentially Art Textiles. The role requires a reliable professional with excellent behaviour management skills who is dedicated to fostering creativity and technical skills in young learners.

Position Details
... - Location: Wakefield
- Contract: Part time role (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
- Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

- Excellent subject knowledge in DT, Construction, and Art Textiles.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in using ICT for teaching and administrative purposes.
- Keen attention to detail, particularly in health and safety matters.
- Empathy and understanding to support diverse student needs.
- Ability to inspire and challenge students to achieve their potential.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across DT, Construction, and Art Textiles.
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their best in practical and theoretical work.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress regularly.
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment.
- Develop innovative teaching resources to support curriculum objectives.
- Support students in project-based learning and coursework.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the DT curriculum.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as DT clubs or competitions.
- Promote inclusivity and ensure equal opportunities for all learners.
- Uphold the school's policies and ethos in all professional activities.
