Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Economics to join our secondary school in Wakefield, starting ASAP. This is a full-time position teaching A Level Economics to highly motivated students. The successful candidate will be passionate about the subject, committed to delivering high-quality lessons, and dedicated to supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
The school has high standards for everyone, values the relationships between students and staff, and is dedicated to the staff's professional and personal growth. Ofsted has rated the school as 'Good'.
Location: Wakefield
Contract: Long term full time role
Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates considered)
Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

- In-depth knowledge of the A Level Economics curriculum
- Create interesting courses that accommodate various learning preferences
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to assess and track student progress
- Inspire pupils and cultivate an enthusiasm for Economics
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Economics at A Level
- Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular marking and feedback
- Provide support and guidance to students
- Prepare students for A Level exams, including providing revision support
- Attend and contribute to departmental meetings and school events
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement
- Participate in professional development opportunities to further enhance teaching skills
