About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our secondary school in Harrogate. This is a part-time position, working four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday), starting as soon as possible and running until February half-term, with the potential to extend. You will teach Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on fostering a love for English, developing students' literacy and communication skills, and preparing them for academic success.

- Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A passion for English and a commitment to nurturing student's creativity and critical thinking.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Foster a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking in students.
- Provide detailed, constructive feedback to help students meet and exceed their targets.
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages every student to thrive.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular activities.
- Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to support student success.
- Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress and plan next steps.
- Tailor lessons to meet the individual needs of all students.
- Set and mark homework, providing timely and effective feedback.
