About the Role

This long-term Geography Teacher position offers the chance to join a welcoming secondary school in Wakefield. The successful candidate will teach KS3 and KS4 students, delivering engaging and curriculum-compliant lessons. You'll play a pivotal role in helping students develop their understanding of physical and human geography while fostering a love for the subject.

Eligibility to work in the UK.
Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and assessment frameworks.
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Excellent subject knowledge in Geography.
Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using technology for teaching and assessment.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
A creative approach to lesson planning and delivery.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality Geography lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
Plan, prepare, and evaluate lessons in line with curriculum standards.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Develop and implement strategies to support student engagement.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Geography curriculum and teaching practices.
Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all students in your care.
Support the school's ethos and values through professional conduct.
Contribute to the professional development of colleagues and share best practices.
Attend staff meetings and contribute to departmental planning.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and share student progress.
