About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Leeds on a part-time basis from 24th February. You will play a key role in fostering a love for music among students while delivering engaging and inspiring lessons. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented educator to make a real impact on students' musical journey.

Contract: Part time (Monday to Thursday)
Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
Ability to teach a variety of musical instruments.
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Skills

Strong knowledge of music theory, composition, and performance.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Passionate about inspiring and engaging young people through music.
Organised, adaptable, and creative in lesson planning.
Experience leading musical ensembles and school productions.
Competence in using music technology and software

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons in line with the curriculum.
Teach a broad range of musical styles and genres, from classical to contemporary.
Encourage students to develop their performance, composition, and listening skills.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music exams.
Organise and direct school performances, concerts, and musical events.
Use music technology and software to enhance learning experiences.
Lead extracurricular music clubs such as choir, orchestra, or band.
Support students in preparing for external music exams and competitions.
