About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Religious Studies to join one of our secondary schools in Leeds. This part-time position would be starting as soon as possible until 30th January initially, with the potential to extend. It would be three days per week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. It would be to cover mostly Key Stage 4, with some Key Stage 3. It is therefore vital the successful candidate has experience teaching up to GCSE. You will play a vital role in delivering engaging lessons, fostering critical thinking, and supporting students as they explore diverse beliefs and ethical perspectives. You will also be required to plan and mark work as needed, ensuring students academic and personal development.

- Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Excellent classroom management skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

- Delivering high-quality Religious Studies lessons to KS4 students.

- Promoting critical thinking and respectful debate about religious and ethical issues.
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborating with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and resources.
- Monitoring and assessing student progress, identifying areas for improvement.
- Supporting students with their personal and academic development.
- Ensuring lessons comply with the safeguarding and diversity policies of the school.
- Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to the ethos of the school.
