The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students with a variety of needs. This includes assisting in the classroom, working one-on-one or with small groups, and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Student Support: Provide individualised assistance to students, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Encourage independence and confidence through structured activities.
- Classroom Collaboration: Assist teachers with lesson planning and classroom management, ensuring the environment is safe and supportive. Track student progress and share insights with the teaching team.
- Additional Duties: Help students during transitions, breaks, and extracurricular activities. Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate, committed individual who:
- Has experience working with children, particularly in an SEN setting.
- Is knowledgeable about safeguarding and child protection.
- Is patient, adaptable, and nurturing in supporting student needs.
- Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
