About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant - Special Needs, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide one-on-one and small group assistance for students with various special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning and behavioural challenges. You will help to build a nurturing and structured learning environment where students feel supported and engaged.
Key Responsibilities
- Student-Centred Support: Offer tailored, compassionate support to students with special needs, encouraging independence and engagement with the curriculum.
- Implementing Individual Plans: Work closely with the SENCo and teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of each student.
- Positive Behavioural Guidance: Utilise effective behaviour management techniques, fostering a calm and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on students' progress, providing valuable feedback to teachers, parents, and specialists to help shape each student's learning journey.
- Promote Inclusion: Cultivate a school environment that values diversity and promotes inclusion, ensuring each child feels valued and supported.
