A small, welcoming Church of England primary school in [Location] is seeking a patient and proactive 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil on the autistic spectrum in KS2. About the Role:
- You will provide 1:1 support to a pupil with autism, working closely with the class teacher and other professionals.
- You will implement individualised support plans designed to meet the pupil's specific needs, focusing on both learning and social integration.
- You will utilize your knowledge of positive strategies and techniques for supporting autistic students to create a positive and engaging learning environment both within and outside the classroom.
- You will foster a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil, promoting their emotional well-being and academic success.
- You will be able to demonstrate patience, calmness, and firmness in setting expectations.
- You will be a strong communicator, collaborating closely with the class teacher, other staff, and parents to ensure the pupil's needs are being met.

Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working with children with autism
- Strong understanding of positive strategies and techniques for supporting autistic pupils
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work proactively and independently

- Patience, calmness, and the ability to set clear expectations
Details:
- Long-term position, starting after Easter.
- Working hours: 8:45 am - 3:15 pm, Monday to Friday (with a 30-minute lunch break).
