About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant in this secondary school in Sheffield, you will play a key role in helping students achieve their best. You'll work closely with teachers and other school staff to support classroom learning, monitor student progress, and provide additional assistance where needed. Pay scale: £22,005.68 to £23,835.19 (under 5 years of service) per annum
Essential requirements
... - Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for education.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience and understanding when working with students.
- Ability to support students with varying learning needs.
- Knowledge of child protection procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with students and staff.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils who are struggling with learning or disengaged from lessons.
- Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Promote inclusion and acceptance for all pupils within the classroom.
- Recognise and respond to the individual needs of pupils, encouraging their involvement and interaction.
- Provide feedback to pupils regarding their progress and achievements.
- Work with the teacher to create an appropriate learning environment.
- Assist in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons as required.
- Monitor and evaluate pupils' responses to learning activities, recording achievements.
- Provide accurate feedback and reports to the teacher on pupil progress.
- Be aware of and comply with the school's child protection policies and procedures.
