An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Team Leader within Edinburgh's Children and Families service. This vital role involves leading a dedicated team in managing high-risk cases and ensuring the safety and welfare of vulnerable children in the community.
We are seeking a capable and collaborative individual with proven leadership experience, ready to drive quality and support within a fast-paced, crisis-focused environment.
This contract is for a minimum of 6 months and offers a competitive hourly rate.
Your responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:
- Representing social work in Inter-Agency Referral Discussions (IRDs), conducting background checks, entering information into the e-IRD system, and collaborating with partners until an outcome is reached.
- Leading and managing the allocation of high-risk child protection cases, ensuring resources are matched with needs to provide effective support.
- Supporting team members with case management, guiding timely and quality assessments to gauge risk and appropriate involvement.
- Reviewing staff reports to ensure consistently high-quality standards in documentation and assessment.
- Collaborating closely with other team leaders, managers, and external partners in police, health, and education, requiring strong negotiation and partnership skills.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing a statutory Children and Families team
- Strong decision-making experience in the IRD process and handling high-risk child protection cases
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent
- Member of the PVG scheme and Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
