About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Social Work Team Manager to lead Conwy's Assessment & Support Team on an agency basis. This is a key leadership role overseeing front line social work practice, ensuring high-quality assessments, safeguarding interventions, and timely support for children and families. The successful candidate will have strong management skills, experience in assessment and safeguarding, and the ability to drive excellent social work practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff within the Assessment & Support Team.
- Oversee the assessment and safeguarding process, ensuring timely responses to referrals and robust decision-making.
- Provide case supervision, guidance, and support to social workers to maintain high standards of practice.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and best practice guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and police, to safeguard children.
- Monitor team performance, workloads, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements.
- Chair strategy discussions, team meetings, and reflective supervision sessions.
- Support staff development through training, mentoring, and professional guidance.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and Social Work Wales registration.
- Proven experience in team management or senior social work roles
