Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage Placement Services: You will be responsible for the management and delivery of a comprehensive range of placement services, including Through-care & Aftercare, Fostering, Adoption, Kinship Care, Supported Lodgings, and Continuing Care.
- Drive Service Excellence: You will ensure the highest quality of service is delivered through effective leadership, resource management, and by setting and maintaining high professional standards.
- Empower and Support Staff: You will provide effective staff support and supervision, fostering professional development, and ensuring a positive team culture.
- Continuous Improvement: You will manage the continuous improvement of Placement Services, ensuring they are responsive to evolving needs and best practice standards.
- Strategic Leadership: You will play a key role in the operational and strategic development of child care and Placement Services, contributing to the first-line management team and participating in relevant management groupings and activities.
- Collaboration and Partnership: You will work collaboratively with multi-agency teams, including the police, health services, and education professionals, to ensure seamless support for children and families.
- Strategic and Operational Focus: You will contribute to the development and management of placement services across Moray, ensuring the best possible outcomes and value for money for the resources managed by your team.
- Advocate for Children and Families: You will ensure the safety and well-being of children, advocating for their best interests and ensuring they receive the appropriate support and resources.
- Contribute to Moray-wide and National Initiatives: You will undertake additional Moray-wide and national child care and Placement Services tasks and developmental projects.
Requirements
- Qualification in Social Work
- Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration
- Child Protection Training
- Significant experience in working within a Children and Families team, particularly in the area of Placement Services
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of relevant policies and legislation
