As our Technical Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing product specification, testing, certification, technical support, master keying, and training. Your contributions will be significant in maintaining our market leadership and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Specification and Testing Management:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define and manage product specifications, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee product testing processes, including performance evaluations, quality control tests, and certification procedures.
Product Certification Management:
- Manage the certification process for products, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies to maintain up-to-date certifications.
- Identify and pursue additional certifications that may benefit our products.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and potential opportunities for product improvement.
- Analyse market data and competitor offerings to make strategic recommendations for product development and enhancement.
Technical Support and Customer Service:
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective troubleshooting.
- Develop technical training materials and deliver training sessions to enhance product knowledge and customer support capabilities.
Master Keying Management:
- Manage the master keying process, including key system design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Develop efficient and secure master keying solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes and standards to thoroughly assess product quality following production.
Technical Training and External Visits:
- Develop and conduct product training sessions for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform technical visits to customer sites as needed to provide hands-on support and training.
About you?
- Proven experience in technical management, preferably within the lock manufacturing industry but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of product specification, testing processes, market research methodologies, and quality management systems.
- Must have a full UK driving license.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to maintain high standards of product quality and accuracy.
- Self-Starter: Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
