Middlesbrough Borough Council's Aspire Team is seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to supporting young people with complex needs to achieve positive outcomes and build fulfilling lives.
About the Role:
You will be part of a team dedicated to:
... - Providing intensive support and interventions to young people aged 16-25 with a range of complex needs, including those who are care-experienced, at risk of homelessness, or facing significant challenges in their lives.
- Working collaboratively with young people to develop individualised support plans, promoting their independence and self-sufficiency.
- Building trusting relationships with young people, empowering them to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
- Connecting young people with appropriate resources and services, including housing, education, employment, and mental health support.
- Advocating for the needs of young people, ensuring their voices are heard and they access the support they need.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of young people referred to the Aspire Team, identifying their needs, strengths, and aspirations.
- Develop and implement individualised support plans, tailored to the specific needs of each young person.
- Provide direct support to young people through one-to-one sessions, group work, and community outreach.
- Facilitate life skills workshops, employment training, and other interventions designed to promote independence.
- Work collaboratively with other agencies and organizations to ensure young people access a range of resources and services.
- Monitor progress, evaluate interventions, and make adjustments as needed.
- Advocate for the needs of young people, ensuring their rights and well-being are protected.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.

- Exceptional Salary: £40,476 - £42,708 per annum (with potential for higher salary based on experience - £46,547 - £49,114) plus a 15% market supplement, totaling up to £49,114.

Key Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Social Care England registration.
- Updated DBS check
- Experience working with young people with complex needs, particularly those who are care-experienced, at risk of homelessness, or facing significant challenges.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to supporting young people with complex needs.
