Role Overview
We are seeking a Trade Customs Clerk to support our import and export operations, ensuring compliance with UK and international trade regulations. This role involves handling customs documentation, managing data, and maintaining HMRC compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with import and export regulations.
Prepare and review customs documentation for accuracy.
Provide clearance instructions and manage customs declarations.
Maintain compliance with HMRC regulations and internal policies.
Manage commodity codes and duty management system data.
Liaise with third-party service providers, HMRC, tax teams, and internal business units.
Ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping for all customs-related activities.
Experience in import/export customs compliance.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with third-party service providers and government agencies such as HMRC.
Proficiency in data entry and working with customs or duty management systems.
Knowledge of UK customs regulations and trade compliance procedures.
Experience in a logistics, supply chain, or customs clearance environment.
Familiarity with commodity codes and classification.
