One of my clients, a leading FM service provider are actively seeking a skilled water maintenance technician to join one of their flagship teams in the City of London
Duties
- Conduct regular sampling and testing of water quality in various systems, including cooling towers, boilers, and potable water systems.
- Analyze test results to detect the presence of harmful microorganisms, chemicals, or impurities.
- Ensure that water treatment processes meet legal standards and industry best practices.
- Monitor and maintain water treatment systems, including filters, softeners, dosing systems, and disinfection units.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on water treatment equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Identify and rectify issues such as scaling, corrosion, and biofilm growth within water systems.
- Implement and manage Legionella risk assessments in compliance with regulatory requirements, such as ACOP L8 in the UK.
- Maintain accurate records of water quality testing, system maintenance, and chemical dosing activities.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on water treatment activities, including compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Qualified Mechanically (C&G / NVQ standard) in Plumbing, heating or mechanical engineering
- Legionella Awareness certificate
- Building services maintenance experience in commercial buildings (3+ years)
