A leading emissions technology manufacturer in Darlington is ramping up production and currently seeking three experienced welders to join the team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals looking to contribute to a high-performance production environment and demonstrate their capabilities in a fast-paced, technically focused setting.
Shift 1: Monday - Friday | 6:00am - 2:00pm
Shift 2: Monday - Thursday | 2:00pm - 11:30pm (Fridays off)
Weekend overtime available when required
Please note: nightshift support is not currently required but may be introduced in the future.
Weld and assemble component parts for exhaust systems to precise specifications
Follow detailed work instructions and production schedules to meet quality standards
Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with colleagues across departments (e.g. Quality, Engineering, Materials)
Maintain a clean and efficient working environment and report any defects or issues to the supervisor
MIG welding experience is essential (TIG also considered)
Ability to weld to automotive quality standards (2-3mm)
Previous experience in a general manufacturing or sheet metal environment
Automotive sector experience is a plus, but not essential

ABC Certificate Level 1, 2 or 3 in Fabrication & Welding Practice
City & Guilds in Welding Skills
BTEC or NVQ in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Fabrication & Welding
A time-served apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment
Proven hands-on welding experience in a production setting
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an on-site welding test and interview (approx. 2 hours total). The welding test is a mandatory requirement for this position.
