We are looking for a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a school in Huddersfield for the period of December 2024 through July 2025. This is a full-time, temporary position offering an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the early stages of a child's education.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons that inspire curiosity and a love of learning in Year 1 students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and setting targets to help students achieve their full potential.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and valued.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure the needs of all students are met, including those with SEND.
- Engage with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
- Take an active role in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Year 1 students or in a primary school setting.
- Strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and the ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A passionate, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to teaching, with a focus on nurturing young learners.
- A commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- DBS check required (or willingness to complete one).
