    Working in RCT children’s Services affords social workers the opportunity to practice in a supportive environment from where we will encourage you to be creative and develop your intervention skills with families.Good  standards of practice is very important to us. Staff can access a wide range of early help and intensive support service for families including:

    • Therapeutic Families team 
    • MAPSS (therapy for looked after young people)
    • Life Journey Team
    • Residential Children’s Homes

    In Rhondda Cynon Taf Care and Support Services, we want to make a difference to the lives people lead and deliver excellent social care services. This means enabling people to say what is important to them and have as much control about the support and services we offer. 

    Our service is based on three simple aims:

    • What matters - to us, the people who use our services and our partners
    • What difference - have we made to people’s lives
    • What next - are we going to do to deliver excellent social care services

    Good quality social work practice is key and we are committed to supporting all our staff including agency workers to develop the right skills and  knowledge to do their job. We offer effective supervision, peer group support and access to the extensive training programme to support professional development. 

    Following the pandemic we can offer access to the office if required but all workers will be provided with the facilities to work effectively from home with Microsoft Teams in particular to aid communication and access to manager support and advice

    Care and support is a large and diverse service and many of the agency workers who work with us have benefitted from its size and diversity, remaining with us as valued members of the team for extended periods
