We are seeking a dedicated English Intervention Teacher to join our team at in Leeds. This part-time position entails working three days a week, specifically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, starting ASAP and extending potentially until the end of the academic year or beyond.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in English.
- Demonstrated experience working with secondary students in an educational setting, preferably with a focus on intervention or support.
- Strong understanding of English curriculum standards and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted English intervention sessions to small groups of students, focusing on those who may have low ability levels.
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to address individual learning needs and accelerate progress.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic growth and confidence building.
- Collaborate with colleagues to monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and interventions provided.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external stakeholders regarding student progress and support needs.
