As they continue to grow, they are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Maintenance Shift Leader to join their dynamic team.
Position: Shift Leader
Location: Central London
Salary: £55,000 + benefits
Hours: Continental shift (4 on 4 off - days and nights)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety protocols.
- Plan, organise, and prioritise maintenance tasks to meet service level agreements and minimise downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to schedule repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices, procedures, and use of equipment, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory levels, utilising computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) as needed.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Respond to emergencies and critical incidents during assigned shifts, taking appropriate action to resolve issues and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with other shift leaders, supervisors, and managers to optimise work flow, resource allocation, and communication across shifts.
- Participate in performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions as needed to support the development and accountability of maintenance staff.
Qualifications:
- Electrical or Mechanical qualification (level 3 required)
- Ideally HV/LVAP
- Proven experience (3+ years) in facilities maintenance
- Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance goals.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, emergency response procedures, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in using computer software and mobile applications for work order management, inventory control, and reporting.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support 24/7 facility operations.
