Job Title: Supervising Social Worker Fostering

Salary: £35-38ph
Randstad are working with Bridgend County Council to recruit a motivated Supervising Social Worker to join a Kinship and Permanence Team.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and support to a caseload of foster carers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to meet the needs of the children in their care.
- Conduct regular home visits and assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of foster placements.
- Collaborate with local authorities, schools, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to advocate for the best interests of children in care.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with foster carers, offering guidance and support through both regular meetings and crisis intervention when necessary.
- Complete thorough assessments of prospective foster carers, including home visits, interviews, and background checks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification recognized by Social Care Wales.
- Registered with Social Care Wales as a Social Worker.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a social work setting, preferably in foster care or child protection.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities effectively.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting children and families in need.
