Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive science lessons tailored to secondary students, fostering their understanding and passion for scientific inquiry.
- Create a stimulating learning environment where students feel empowered to explore, question, and discover.
- Utilise innovative teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, promoting inclusively and accessibility.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to guide their growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary approaches and enrich the overall curriculum.
- Adhere to school policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for science education and a commitment to fostering student's curiosity and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Flexibility to work part-time on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, starting ASAP until the end of the summer term.
- Previous experience teaching science at the secondary level is advantageous but not essential.
