Then look no further - We're currently offering an opportunity for a Science Technician to work full-time for a School in Leeds starting 29th April until Summer.
Requirements:
- A degree in a relevant scientific field, such as biology, chemistry, or physics.
- Prior experience working as a Science Technician in an educational or research environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and the handling of hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with a wide range of laboratory equipment and instruments, including their setup, operation, and maintenance.
- A passion for science education and a desire to inspire and support students in their scientific exploration.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science experiments, ensuring they are safe and in proper working condition.
- Assist teaching staff and students in conducting experiments, demonstrations, and practical activities, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain and organise laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring their availability and proper storage.
- Safely handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste according to established protocols and regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, promptly reporting any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep accurate records of laboratory activities, experiments, and inventory, maintaining a well-organized system for easy retrieval and reference.
- Assist in the preparation and development of science resources, including worksheets, handouts, and visual aids, to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure that the science curriculum is effectively supported and aligned with educational goals.
