We are currently seeking an enthusiastic A-Level History Teacher to join our vibrant team at our esteemed sixth form setting in Leeds. This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic development of young scholars.
Requirements:
- Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Experience teaching A-Level History or related subjects in a secondary or sixth form setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for History and historical inquiry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, specifically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting academic excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and insightful lessons to A-Level History students, fostering their understanding of key historical concepts, events, and methodologies.
- Provide individualised support and guidance to students, facilitating their academic progress and attainment of learning objectives.
- Design and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote critical thinking, analytically skills, and historical inquiry among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the History curriculum, ensuring alignment with academic standards and educational objectives.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, academic rigor, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies for improvement as necessary.
- Engage in professional development activities to stay abreast of current trends, pedagogical approaches, and historical scholarship.
